#23 Alabama Comes Up Short To Illinois State, 1-3, In The First Of A Two-Game Series



Bloomington, Ill. -#23 Alabama came up short to Illinois State University, 1-3, in the first of a two-game series on Friday night. Tonight’s match marks senior Jeremy Hannah’s 100th career game.

The first was quiet on the ice until ISU’s Trevor Hansen struck the first goal of the game with just about 1:00 remaining in the period. The second went scoreless with total shots on goal being 29-28 in favor of ISU, and Alabama trailed by one going into the third.

Marc Demers scored his fifth goal of the season to tie the game, 1-1, 2:58 into the third period. Shortly after, Hansen scored his second goal of the game to put ISU back in the lead.

With 16:44 remaining, Taylor Joseph received a minor penalty and Kyle Melton responded with a power play goal to up ISU’s lead to two goals. Alabama was unable to score the remainder of the period and was down, 1-3, at the end of the game.
