#22 Alabama Sweeps Duquesne, 6-2



PELHAM, Ala. - #22 Alabama beat Duquesne, 6-2, on Saturday night. Junior Dylan Teed and senior Jack Rooney both earned their 100th career points in tonight’s match.

Felix Conrads struck the first goal of the game with assists from Jon Lovorn and Taylor Bowman, and 14:48 left to play in the first period. Shortly after, a penalty was called on Duquesne’s Sean Martin.

Taylor Joseph took advantage of the power play to score and raise Alabama’s lead to two goals. With only 45 seconds left in the first, Dylan Teed scored to earn his 100th career point and to raise Alabama’s lead to 3-0 at the end of the period.

Immediately into the second, Tim Freed scored to put Duquesne on the board. With 7:12 left in the period, Duquesne struck again to cut Alabama’s lead to one goal. Sam Messina responded with a goal 14:30 into the second to put Alabama in the lead, 4-2, at the end of the period.

With 12:30 left in the game, Messina put the puck in the net again with an assist from Ryan Johnson. Minutes later, Dane Sana scored the game winning goal to secure Alabama’s win, 6-2.
