Players to Attend Pelham Civic Complex Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama Hockey team will be attending the Pelham Community Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Monday, Nov. 27. The event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. CT in the recently renovated main arena at the Pelham Civic Complex.

Those in attendance can participate in free skating on both ice rinks beginning at 7:30 p.m. From 7:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m., players from the Birmingham Bulls and the Alabama Hockey team will be skating with guests. Free cocoa and cookies will be provided by the Pelham High School Culinary Arts Program.

The Pelham High School Jazz Band will entertain guests as they enter the venue, and children from local schools will sing Christmas carols throughout the event. Attendees will have the chance to see members of the Pelham Mite Under 8 Division in action, and students from the Pelham Skate School and the Birmingham Figure Skating Club will perform. Santa Claus will be available from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m., and again from 7:30 p.m. until the event concludes.

The Pelham Christmas Tree Lighting is sponsored by the City of Pelham and the Beautification Board. The event is free to the public. Alabama will play its first home game in the newly renovated Pelham Civic Complex on Dec. 8 against Midland at 7 p.m.
