TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama hockey program is pleased to announce a partnership with Capstone Agency, The University of Alabama’s student-run integrated communications firm. This new collaboration will provide the hockey program with strategic, innovative and effective communication services.
The partnership was finalized on Sept. 21. This relationship is beneficial to students in both organizations as Alabama Hockey will receive refined communication strategies to better engage the community, and Capstone Agency members will have the opportunity to work with a client in the sports sector.
“I am extremely excited for this partnership,” Brian Ogden, the team’s director of communications, said. “As this program has grown over the past few years, the efforts and workload of our internal staff have multiplied greatly with many people being forced to wear multiple hats. Capstone Agency came to us offering a core group of talented UA students to help relieve some of that workload while injecting new ideas.”
Capstone Agency is an award-winning communications firm comprised of 128 students in six departments: account services, creative, digital, insights, media relations and public relations. In 2016, the agency was named the nation’s top student-run firm by the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA).
The primary goal of this collaboration is to increase awareness of the hockey team on campus and throughout the Tuscaloosa community. The agency’s initial plan includes updating the team’s website, creating new graphics, developing a tailored social media strategy, and increasing media placements.
